The Neighbourhood Watch (Ryde Districts) is a community organisation that has the aim of creating safer communities.
What the Neighbourhood Watch provides:
The main mechanism in which the Neighbourhood Watch does this is via a newsletter to residents. There are 5 newsletters produced each year, with a distribution run of ~15,000 households. This is a significant cost, hence the need to fundraise. It is also important to note that there is no regular government funding from any level – meaning that initiatives like the above can only be done via community grants as well as any fundraising that we do ourselves. Fundraising difficulty is compounded by the fact that the local chapter of the Neighbourhood Watch is not a registered charity with DGR status (i.e. can’t be tax deductible).
